Himachal-What happened this week

• New Engineering College at Kotla– CM Virbhadra laid down the foundation of new engineering college namely “Mahatma Gandhi Engineering College” at Kotla district Shimla. An amount of RS.118.5 crore will spend on construction of college.

Presently Himachal has 18500 government schools and 94 degree colleges.

• Adhaar enrolment will complete by January 2016, says H.P Govt- Adhaar enrolment in state started in 2011. Till the date about 98% of populations have been covered under the schemes. In the state Population above 18 years already have been covered under the schemes but primary gap comes from population under 5 years, say authorities.

• M Flagged off walk for diabetes on 14 November– World diabetes day was celebrated in Shimla on 14 November. On this day a walk was organised at 9 A.M from oak to ridge. At this occasion eminent endocrinologist Dr Sanjay Kalara from AIIMS Delhi delivered a speech.
